BlackBerry solution software provided to third party suppliers, eg Nokia and Sony-Ericsson, have limited functionality where they can only send and receive e-mail, Synchronisation with calendar and use of the BlackBerry desktop synchronisation software is only available to customers using a BlackBerry device from (RIM) Research In Motion.
What Email Can I Use?
BlackBerry Internet Solution allows for the majority of ISP / POP3 and some web based email accounts. These include:
- ISP / POP3 (IF Telecom, OptusNet, Bigpond, dodo etc)
- IMAP (Gmail)
- AOL Mail
- MSN (Hotmail Plus ONLY - Subscription)
- Microsoft Exchange (Using Outlook Web Access, Blackberry Mail Connector or auto-forward rules).
- IBM Lotus Domino (Using iNotes or the Blackberry Re-director).
Email account integration is subject to service provider availability and compliance with Corporate IT policies. Administrator access or similar may be required. IF Telecom & Optus is not responsible and accepts no liability for such policies.
