1. What is your name?
Jesse Emmanuelle Volpe.
2. When did you start working for IF Telecom?
15th of January 2008.
3. What did you do prior to starting work with IF Telecom?
Centre Manager for National Storage.
4. Describe your first role within the company?
I started at IF as a Contractor selling basic telephony services to businesses. The role consisted of cold calling businesses throughout Melbourne and Victoria.
5. What do you enjoy most about your job?
A number of things, the team is always working together towards team, personal and company goals. We are all very close. The travel side of the job is excellent, for a number of reasons - we get paid to see our country and on top of that build relations and help businesses in rural and outback areas. The job is extremely flexible and consists of an even spread of working in the office and out in the field. The training side of the business is second to none, primarily because of we train every day. Not many businesses train their staff on new and innovative topics every working day.
6. What have you learnt while working with IF Telecom?
Prior to being at IF, I managed storage centers which consisted of, loads of internal sales, account management etc... not much b2b sales. B2B is definately a challenging job, whether you are a sales manager or a sales rep, it requires a lot of training and education. This job has enabled me to become an extremely confident business person. And continues to help me grow in and out of the job every day.
7. What is your current role within the company?
Currently I am the National B2B Sales Manager for IF Telecom.
8. Describe some of your typical day to day working activities.
Daily working days include: Forecasting, goal setting, training, selling, taking out observations, territory management, motivating staff, overseeing each states etc....
9. What characteristics would you say are important to be successful within the company?
A number of qualities. You obviously need to be confident, enthusiastic, passionate, determined to achieve goals, organised, have a keen want to learn etc.....
10. How much opportunity is there to advance within the company?
We are currently recruiting rapidly and wanting to open offices in every state of Australia. There is a massive opportunity for a number of roles within the group
11. What’s your favourite memory of working at IF Telecom so far?
I have a few favourite memories, The trip to Queensland, Top guns, When we expanded to SA, being promoted to National B2B Sales Manager.
12. What are your working goals for this year?
To expand to Tasmania, New South Wales and WA. Promote three managers in the group.
13. What can you see yourself doing in 3 years?
Obviously CEO of the company or on the board of directors :) Hopefully by then we will also have office in New Zealand and the UK.
