Meet The Team - Nick Holden - Account Manager

Since joining IF Telecom Nick has filled several roles and, in doing so, has earned himself the clichéd, although well deserved, ‘jack of all trades’ tag. Initially he was head-hunted from the international arm of Barclays Bank in the UK to design and develop our new Partner Channel. Despite being recruited for this particular role he has spent much of the first year working tirelessly as an Account Manager in a bid to learn the intricacies of the business. This role has led him to become one of the most knowledgeable people in the office despite the fact he knew very little about telecommunications when he initially joined the company. Nick now heads up the ever-growing and successful Partner Channel which he has nurtured from the ground up. Through this he now spends much of his time travelling inter-state as he meets, greets and trains new Partners. In addition, he has established himself as the creative writer in the office which brings with it the editorial responsibility for the hugely popular quarterly newsletter, ‘Inside IF’.
Outside of work Nick is a passionate traveller which means he always seems to be negative on his annual leave accrual. To date, he has explored South America, Africa, Europe and Australasia extensively with further travel to Asia high on the agenda. The more wild side of Nick should see him hit a lifelong goal of climbing Mount Everest at some point and the less daring side confesses to harbouring ambitions to write and publish a dictionary. It has to be agreed that this, as far as life goals go, is pretty odd. One lesson that the management have quickly learned is that you do not ask Nick to do anything before 9 am. For the first half hour of each day he is engrossed in catching up on the world’s sport and, in particular, English football. Unfortunately, all this time spent researching sport seems to have had limited impact on the practical side much to the detriment of the office 5-a-side football team of which Nick is a part…but he is trying!
